Freshwater East Lodge

Freshwater East, Pembrokeshire · sleeps 6 · 3 bedrooms

A cedar-clad lodge on the wooded slope above Freshwater East bay: sea glimpses through the oaks, a hot tub on the deck, and the dune-backed beach a seven-minute walk below. It's the quiet base for the loud attractions — Barafundle and Stackpole Quay are one headland west by Coast Path, Bosherston's lily ponds ten minutes' drive, Tenby fifteen the other way.

Open-plan living with a wall of glass, three bedrooms (one bunk), and an outdoor shower for wetsuits and dogs. The Freshwater Inn up the hill covers the no-cooking nights.

Why we recommend it

Hot tub plus a walkable beach plus the Stackpole coast on foot — the south coast's best all-rounder brief at a mid-range price, in the bay everyone forgets and regulars guard.
