Privacy policy

Last updated: 10 August 2026. This policy explains how pembrokeshireguide.co.uk (“we”) handles personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

• Nothing that identifies you, by default. Browsing the site requires no account and sets no tracking cookies.
• Search and click statistics. We record anonymous, first-party events — searches performed (the filters used and result counts) and outbound clicks to booking providers (which property, which provider, which page, when). These contain no names, emails, or persistent identifiers, and we do not build profiles.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and reliability, retained briefly.
• Email you send us. If you contact us we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it.

What happens when you click through to book

Booking links leave this site for the provider (e.g. a cottage agency or Booking.com) via an affiliate network (e.g. Awin or CJ). From that point their privacy policies apply; the network may set cookies on the provider’s site to attribute the booking. We receive aggregate reports (clicks, commissions) that don’t identify you personally.

Legal bases

We rely on legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) for anonymous site analytics and security logging, and on legitimate interests/contract for responding to enquiries.

Your rights

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Contact hello@pembrokeshireguide.co.uk. You can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you’re unhappy with our answer.

Data sharing and transfers

We don’t sell personal data. Service providers (hosting, email) process data under contract. Where data leaves the UK, recognised safeguards (adequacy or standard contractual clauses) apply.
