Harbour Watch

Tenby, Pembrokeshire · sleeps 4 · 2 bedrooms

Tucked into a lane at the quiet St Julian's end of the walled town, Harbour Watch is the Tenby dream done properly: a listed Georgian cottage whose first-floor sitting room looks straight down over the moored boats of the harbour and across to Goscar Rock. Two minutes' walk puts your feet on North Beach sand; the town's restaurants are closer still.

Inside it's compact and characterful — beams, sash windows, a proper window seat for boat-watching — with a sensibly modern kitchen and bathroom. Like most walled-town addresses there's no parking at the door; a space in the multi-storey is a five-minute walk (book ahead in summer).

Why we recommend it

The genuine harbour view from a sitting-room window seat is what everyone imagines a Tenby cottage to be, and almost none actually deliver. Best enjoyed off-season when the walls empty and the light goes sideways.
