Promote your business

Being in the guide is free and always will be. This page is about the other thing — paying to appear in a promoted box, which is separate, clearly labelled, and deliberately kept away from anything editorial.

What paying does not buy

Worth putting first, because it’s the part that matters.

  • It can’t get you into a recommendation. Our picks — best pub for a walk, best beach for a family, where to stay near a stretch of the Coast Path — are chosen on merit. There is no price for one.
  • It can’t move you up a list. Every list on this site is ordered by something real: distance, rating from the source that published it, or our own judgement. Never by what someone paid.
  • It can’t hide anything. Food hygiene ratings come from the FSA and we publish them exactly as scored. Reviews are the reviewers’.
  • It’s always labelled. A promoted entry sits in its own box marked “Paid promotion”, and its links carry the sponsored tag search engines look for.

That isn’t modesty — it’s the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, and it’s the only reason a recommendation here is worth reading.

What it does buy

Classified

A pub, café, shop or activity that wants to be found by people already reading about their village.

  • A line in the promoted box on the pages that matter to you — your town, and the category you're in
  • A link to your own site
  • A short description, written by you and edited for house style

Enhanced

A business with something to show — photographs, a menu, a season's worth of events.

  • Everything in Classified
  • Photographs and a longer write-up on your own entry in the guide
  • Opening hours and contact details kept current, checked with you each season

Area partner

One business per area that wants to be the name people see across a whole destination.

  • Everything in Enhanced
  • The promoted box across a whole destination's pages, not just one
  • First refusal on the following year

We’re still settling on prices, so there aren’t any numbers here yet. Get in touch and we’ll tell you where we’ve landed before you commit to anything.

How to start

There’s no checkout and no contract to click through. Email hello@pembrokeshireguide.co.uk with what you run and where, and we’ll reply with what we’d suggest and what it costs. If your business isn’t in the guide yet, add it first — that part is free, and plenty of businesses never need anything else.

We also earn commission when a reader books accommodation through some of our links. That is disclosed separately on every page it applies to — see our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy.
