Not to be confused with Broad Haven on St Brides Bay, Broad Haven South is the beach at the foot of Bosherston's lily ponds: fine pale sand, dunes, and the pyramid of Church Rock offshore anchoring every photograph. Walk in from Bosherston around the ponds (the best approach — herons, dragonflies, sometimes otters) or directly from the NT car park above the beach.
Swimming is pleasant on calm days (unguarded; occasional rips near the rocks), and the dunes and pools keep children happy for hours. Dogs are welcome year-round, which combined with the walk keeps it a favourite with dog owners. The Castlemartin range boundary is just west — the St Govan's Chapel walk from here is superb when the range road is open.
