Pembrokeshire is bigger and emptier than it looks on a map, and fuel isn't evenly spread. The towns — Haverfordwest, Pembroke, Milford Haven, Fishguard, Narberth, Tenby — are fine. The peninsulas are not.

Three gaps to plan around: St Davids and the north-west, where your options are the city itself or back towards Haverfordwest; the Marloes and Dale peninsula, which has none; and the Angle and Castlemartin corner in the south.

Rural forecourts often shut in the evening, and some are card-only out of hours.
