Poppit Sands

Poppit spreads across the Teifi estuary mouth at the national park's northern edge — a big, family-friendly expanse of sand and dune with lifeguards in season, a café, and the Coast Path's northern start/finish plaque at St Dogmaels just up the road. Cardigan Bay's bottlenose dolphins pass offshore often enough to keep binoculars busy. The estuary channel demands respect (swim in the lifeguarded zone); dunes and low-tide pools do the rest. Technically a whisker outside Pembrokeshire's newer county line but inside the national park and firmly part of any north-coast holiday, especially from a Newport or Cardigan base.
