TYF Adventure

18 Heol Fawr, St Davids, SA62 6SD

St Davids' original adventure outfit — coasteering, sea kayaking, surfing, climbing and paddleboarding from a shop on the High Street, running for over thirty years.

TYF has been taking people into the sea around St Davids since the 1980s, and it was here that coasteering — scrambling, swimming and jumping along the foot of the cliffs — was first packaged as something you could book. The base is a shop at 20 High Street; sessions head out to whichever bit of coast suits the day, with surfing at Whitesands, sea-kayaking and coasteering on the St Davids peninsula, and a giant-paddleboard-plus-coasteering hybrid launched from Solva harbour.

Two formats matter when you book. Discovery sessions are mixed-age — families with children from eight upwards. Explorer sessions are for sixteen and over, so the pace and the jumps step up. A half-day of coasteering, kayaking, surfing or climbing was £65 a head when we checked (September 2026), with full-day options around £130. Wetsuits, helmets and all the safety kit are included, as are photos from the guides' waterproof cameras; you bring swimwear, a towel and trainers you don't mind soaking. Sessions run about three and a half hours door to door.

Book online or by phone, and book ahead in school holidays. If conditions turn, TYF's own terms say they'll offer another date, a voucher or a refund. For how the different operators on this coast compare, see coasteering in Pembrokeshire.

Best for

Families with children eight and up (Discovery sessions); adults who want the bigger jumps (Explorer); a week's worth of different water sports from one base.

Why this one might suit you

Caerfai Bay is within a mile, and it's set up for families.

Assembled from what we can evidence — hygiene ratings, measured distances and the venue's own listed details — not from a visit. We haven't eaten here, and we don't pretend to have.
