Tenby was built to be looked at from the sea — but it's just as good the other way round, and it has two distinct sea views to choose between. Harbour views (from the walled town's northern edges) give you boats, Goscar Rock and the pastel amphitheatre of North Beach: intimate, animated, best at high tide and sunrise. Open-sea views (from the Esplanade and South Cliff terraces) give you the huge sweep of South Beach with Caldey Island anchored offshore: big skies, big light, sunrise over the water.
Our rule for this page is simple: the view must be real — a principal room facing the water, not a glimpse from a landing. Each listing says which rooms get the view. If the view is the point of your booking, favour off-season months too: the light is more dramatic, the crowds are gone, and the same window costs considerably less.
The listings on this page are graded on where the water actually appears. Harbour and Castle Beach views come from the old town's seaward edge: Sparta Cottage sits above Castle Beach with the sea from the lounge and a balcony for six, and Ocean View, 70 metres from Castle Beach, has it from the bay window and the double bedroom; Harbourside, in the much-photographed Blue House, looks straight down onto Harbour Beach from the lounge and a bistro terrace. South Beach views come from the Esplanade and the streets behind it: Caldey View 3 has the bay windows a few metres from the sand, and South Beach Court 12a frames South Beach and the golf course from the dining table. A "sea glimpse" from a second bedroom is noted as exactly that.
Tenby's seafront stock is mostly period apartments in shared buildings, so expect stairs (one listing here is up a spiral from a beer garden), limited or no parking, and lifts only in the newer blocks. The trade is worth it: the North Beach car park charges all year (£5 for 24 hours in 2026), the harbour's 21 spaces are the first to fill, and a flat you can walk from removes the daily hunt. Sea-view weeks are priced for August; the same window in October, when the light comes in low across Caldey and the town is quiet, is usually the better buy.
