Fishguard's harbour-side twin: ferry port, parrog seafront and the gateway to Strumble Head's wild coast.
Goodwick curls around the western side of Fishguard Bay, its breakwater sheltering the Ireland ferries and a seafront parrog with a sandy low-tide beach, marine walk and cafés. It's a practical, friendly base rather than a chocolate-box one — and the coast immediately west is the reward: the Pencaer peninsula's lanes lead to Strumble Head lighthouse, Garn Fawr hillfort and coves where seals haul out in autumn. Ferry-watching, porpoise-spotting and some of the least-walked Coast Path miles in the county are the local specialities.
