Broad Haven's mile of firm sand faces due west into St Brides Bay, which means safe family swimming (lifeguarded in season), low-tide rockpools towards Little Haven, and sunsets that stop dinner. The village behind the beach keeps it easy: shop, cafés, pubs, car parks and a flat walk from most accommodation to the sand.
It pairs with its tiny neighbour Little Haven — at low tide you can walk round on the sand; at high tide it's five minutes over the headland — where the Swan and St Brides Inn add pub character. As a base, Broad Haven puts the whole west coast in reach: Skomer boats from Martin's Haven (20 minutes), Newgale surf (10 minutes), Marloes Sands (15 minutes). Note for dog owners: the main beach restricts dogs in the summer season, but Little Haven's sands and the coast either side stay walkable year-round.
