Farm shops, producers and markets in Pembrokeshire
10 producers across 8 Pembrokeshire towns and villages.
Self-catering in Pembrokeshire is a great deal better if you shop like a local for at least one meal. The county is farmland that happens to have a coastline, and the difference between supermarket lamb and something bought within ten miles of where it grazed is not marketing — you can taste it.
Farm shops here vary from serious operations with a butcher's counter and a café to an honesty box on a lane with eggs and potatoes in it. Both are worth stopping for. The honesty boxes are one of the quiet pleasures of driving around the county, and they still work on trust.
Opening hours are the catch. Many of these close early, close on Sundays, or close entirely out of season, so a Sunday-evening arrival needs planning around. Check before you drive.
