Deer-park safaris and rewilded farmland on the estate behind Tenby's Dinosaur Park — the gentle, real-animal half of the same day out.
Great Wedlock is the estate a few minutes inland from Tenby that visitors mostly know for the Dinosaur Park — but the farm-and-deer-park side of the operation has grown into an attraction of its own: tractor-trailer safaris through the deer herds, feeding encounters, and farmland being managed noticeably for wildlife, walked on trails that feel closer to a nature reserve than a petting zoo.
The pairing is the point. Dinosaurs are fibreglass and fabulous; the deer are real and calm, and the two halves of the estate cover both moods of a family day within one drive from town. Opening is seasonal and safari places are limited — book or check times on the attraction's site, especially in school holidays.
For the rest of the Tenby-with-children arsenal — Heatherton, Manor Wildlife Park, Folly Farm — see Pembrokeshire with kids.
