Wiseman's Bridge Inn

Wisemans Bridge, SA69 9AU

Beachfront pub between Saundersfoot and Amroth with a garden that runs down to the sand, real ales, eight B&B rooms and a small touring park — open 365 days a year.

Hygiene 4/5Food Standards Agency, inspected 17 January 2025 · official record

Wiseman's Bridge is the little cove where the Coast Path drops to the beach between Saundersfoot and Amroth, and the Inn owns the view: a garden of fifty-odd outside tables going down to the beach, Carmarthen Bay in front. The family has been here since 1954, and the bay has its own footnote in history — in August 1943 it was used for D-Day landing rehearsals, and the landlord of the day, 'Jack the Bridge', was made coastguard.

The food is pub food, honestly priced: fisherman's pie, beer-battered catch of the day, a crab-and-prawn salad, curries and a beef lasagne mostly in the £14–£18 range when we checked (September 2026), children's meals £7.50, and a warning on the menu of up to an hour's wait at peak times. Lunch is 12–2.30 and evenings 6–8.30 most days; Tuesdays and Wednesdays run a pop-up instead. The bar opens at ten and is open every day of the year, Christmas included. A range of real ales is kept.

Dogs are welcome in the old bar and on the beach but not in the restaurant. Outside tables are first come, first served. Upstairs are eight en-suite rooms, six with sea views, from £80 to £150 a night with breakfast (2026 rates), plus apartments and a nineteen-pitch adults-only touring park. Free parking on the front. The beach itself is on our Wisemans Bridge page.

Best for

A Coast Path lunch stop with sand under the table; families who want the beach and the pub in one place; a straightforward seaside B&B.

Why this one might suit you

Assembled from what we can evidence — hygiene ratings, measured distances and the venue's own listed details — not from a visit. We haven't eaten here, and we don't pretend to have.
