Being able to walk to the beach — no car park queue, no packing the boot, sandy feet straight home — changes the shape of a Pembrokeshire day. We class "walking distance" as roughly 15 minutes or less on foot with a bag and children in tow, and we state the distance in metres where we have it, because "close to the beach" in listings can mean anything.
Tenby, Saundersfoot, Broad Haven, Newgale and Manorbier have the deepest stock of walkable stays. Remember tides: some beaches (Saundersfoot, Amroth) shrink to a strip at high water, so a morning and evening walk pattern works better than an all-day camp.
